The Nevada Supreme Court Access to Justice Commission ("Commission"), created by the Nevada Supreme Court in June, 2006 to
expand and improve access to justice in Nevada, is seeking an executive director. This position reports to the Commission
co-chairs and state bar executive director and is employed by the State Bar of Nevada.
This position serves as the administrator of the Access to Justice Commission. Key responsibilities include coordinating the
state bar's pro bono initiatives, overseeing the Commission's activities, and working in close collaboration with Commission
members, committees, volunteers, partners, and consultants.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or equivalent training and experience required.
A minimum of 5 years' relevant work experience
Pro bono or legal aid experience and experience working with the judiciary also preferred
Organizational and planning experience and skills.
Marketing and communication experience
Skills & Abilities
Ability to work collaboratively with people and organizations representing diverse interests;
experience staffing boards or committees is preferred
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong political and interpersonal skills.
Ability to recognize statewide access to justice priorities and work cooperatively to support their accomplishment
Ability to analyze complex issues and to develop realistic and relevant plans.
Experience working with diverse groups participating in policy development
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously and to work independently with limited supervision.
