Florida's Broward County Bar Association, a 2,200-member organization based in Fort Lauderdale, is seeking an executive director.
Duties
The executive director is responsible for managing the operations and resources of the Broward Bar and acting in the best interests of the membership. Key responsibilities include:
  • Overseeing the bar's day to day operations;
  • Hiring, supervising, and evaluating all staff members;
  • Supervising all accounting and budgeting functions;
  • Managing the bar's physical space;
  • Overseeing the Broward Bar Lawyer Referral Service;
  • Supervising the preparation of press releases and public relations; and
  • Supervising technological, social networking, and computer (both hardware and software) initiatives to keep the bar current with industry best practices.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's or higher level degree
  • Experience or familiarity with the law and the legal profession
  • Proven leadership and relationship experience
Skills & Abilities
  • Superior management and administrative skills, to supervise personnel, the budget process, accounting, and management departments/public relations, and the entire Broward Bar
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • A persuasive communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Literacy and proficiency in computers and other technological innovations
  • A commitment to diversity
