The Maine State Bar Association is seeking a membership services director.
This position is responsible for the direction of general member services of the association. Key responsibilities include:
  • Organizing annual and ongoing membership drives;
  • Representing the association in various forums to promote the benefits of MSBA membership;
  • Serving as a member of the staff marketing team to develop promotional materials for all MSBA activities;
  • Identifying and cultivating new member benefits;
  • Serving as staff liaison to the Membership Committee;
  • Overseeing MSBA sections and committees; and,
  • Promoting and maintaining the bar's Corporate Patron program.
Statewide travel is required.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor?s degree in marketing, public relations, advertising, communications or closely related field, or equivalent experience
  • Five years' experience with member organizations (preferably those with voluntary membership), non-profit associations, or the equivalent
  • Marketing experience preferred
  • Experience with surveying, data analysis, and using data to create touch points and messaging
  • Experience effectively supervising other staff members
Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of basic marketing concepts
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with keen attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with volunteers and in a team atmosphere
