*Please note the Section's Policies below*
REIMBURSEMENT POLICY
The Section does not offer registration waivers or complimentary registration for speakers participating in Section of Litigation meetings. The possible exception to the non-waiver rule are those with "actual need" or those who fall within the following categories and approved on a case by case basis by the planning committee:
- Judges
- Government attorneys
- Full-time academics
- Public service or public interest attorneys
The Section will not reimburse travel or housing expenses for any speaker except those listed above and in the most exceptional of circumstances, pre-approved on a case-by-case basis by the planning committee and the Section Leadership.
DIVERSITY POLICY
The American Bar Association has four core goals. Goal III seeks to eliminate bias and enhance diversity and inclusion in the Association, legal profession, and justice system. In adherence to Goal III, the ABA Board of Governors implemented a new Diversity CLE Policy that seeks to ensure that CLE programs sponsored or co-sponsored by the ABA include panel members of the following underrepresented diverse groups – racial and ethnic minorities, women, LGBTQ individuals, and persons with disabilities.
To help facilitate entity compliance with the Diversity CLE Policy and maximize opportunity, the ABA encourages you (using the supplied drop down boxes below) to indicate whether you believe the proposed speaker falls within any of the four demographic categories.
Providing this information is completely voluntary, and it will be available for review only by ABA staff employees and planning committee members. In accordance with the ABA Privacy Policy, demographic information is deemed “sensitive personally identifiable information” and is not included in membership directories or registration lists. If you provide this information for a speaker and the speaker later chooses to opt out of having this information available, he/she may opt out of providing the information at any time.
