21st Century Lawyer: Recording and November Program
At the September 21st Century Lawyer program on Cultivating Diverse Bar Leaders for a Next Generation Bar, attendees heard from three first-time Latina bar leaders – Laura Benitez Geisler, Dallas Bar; Amanda Arriaga, Austin Bar; Diana Perez Gomez, Houston Bar – about the lessons they learned about leadership pathways. Amanda noted that her biggest takeaway is that “No matter what issue you are facing, NCBP can connect you with others who are having the same experience. I never would have known about Diana and Laura if it wasn't for NCBP and putting together this panel!"

Tools from the World Justice Project: Rule of Law
At its 2023 Annual Meeting, NCBP highlighted the critical role that lawyers and bar associations play in upholding the rule of law and restoring trust in democratic institutions. This program was done in collaboration with the World Justice Project (WJP), former United States Fourth Circuit of Appeals Judge J. Michael Luttig, and the Ohio State Bar Association and State Bar of Nevada.
WJP is now providing additional tools to advance the rule of law. For the latest data on the rule of law in the United State, join the WJP on October 25 at 10am EDT for the launch of its 2023 WJP Rule of Law Index, an independent annual survey of more than 140 countries worldwide. Bar associations and lawyers can also sign up for the WJP Toolkit on rule of law issues.
